Moving through different creative spaces, it was our awareness of time as the unfolding moment that united us as artistic-researchers. This awareness varied with the media of our exploration, be it film, written word, clay, or moving bodies; but it was always shaped in and through our consciousness of ‘maintenant’ as ‘the hand that holds.’
As we watch now, in this moment, through the temporality of the snapshot, the gesture takes form as the clay solidifies. Touch appears in all of its softness, while in the stillness, the silence resounds. The echoes multiply as the hands are taken up by others.
