Chamber Music Competition

Application Deadline: Friday, November 22, 2024 at 5:00 pm

Fall 2024

Preliminary Round: Thursday, December 5, 10am – 1pm in Tanna Schulich Hall
Final Round: Thursday, December 5, at 7-10pm in Tanna Schulich Hall (Dress rehearsal at 4-6:30pm)

Eligibility

Any group of between 3-5 instrumentalists who have taken MUEN 560, 561, or 568 (string, brass, wind, and mixed ensemble with piano) in the Fall 2024 semester and received coaching for the entire semester.

Rules

Repertoire Requirements | Two works
- One Complete Work
- One Additional Contrasting Work (at least one movement)
Depending on the number of applications received in the preliminary round, either a complete work or excerpts of a specified duration from that work will be requested on the day of the competition.
3 or 4 groups will be selected for the final round. Each group will perform its full program in its entirety.
The list of finalists will be emailed to all participants as soon as possible following the first round.

The Finals will be webcast on the Schulich YouTube Channel!
